MK ULTRA

A bend-ready video circuit with every good spot brought out and labeled — the welcoming way in to circuit bending.

MK ULTRA
PLATE 1 — MK ULTRA, as built.

Most people get into circuit bending the same way: a thrift-store video enhancer, a screwdriver, and a lot of poking at the underside of a board that was never meant to be poked. It works — that’s how everyone learns — but the good spots are unlabeled, the fragile spots look identical to the good ones, and the first lesson is usually a dead board.

MK ULTRA is that rite of passage, redesigned to be on your side. It’s a modified circuit inspired by the Archer video enhancer — the classic first bend — rebuilt so the bend surface is the point:

The board drawing above is the fabrication artwork — what you see is what you bend.

What it’s for

Getting your feet wet. The circuit distorts and enhances a composite signal on its own; every bend point changes what it does, some subtly, some completely. Because the points are labeled and documented, you can keep notes that mean something — “BP5 to BP9 through 330R” is a recipe you can repeat, which is the difference between an accident and a technique.
